The Glen Echo Fire Department Foundation, a 501c3 corporation dedicated to raising funds for the betterment of the Glen Echo Fire Department, is seeking two qualified individuals to fill vacancies on its Board of Directors.
The first candidate will have experience in estate giving and planning and, besides serving as a full member of the Board: volunteer to answer questions from community members who are interested in estate giving; provide sample wording for estate giving; and maintain a connection with those individuals who have pledged their support.
The second candidate will have experience in corporate finances (specifically 501c3 corporations) and, besides serving as a full member of the Board: will assist in the accounting of the Foundation, explore banking and investment opportunities/changes; and assist with our tax preparations.
Although the Glen Echo Fire Department Foundation’s Board of Directors is a purely volunteer organization, the positions come with several perks and benefits derived from membership in a volunteer fire department. It also affords a person the ability to give back to their community as part of the volunteer fire department in a rare and unique, non-operational, way.
